Today I...Stand Tall

Basically, this little post is purely a promotional gambit for my friend's business, 'Stand Tall Clothing'.  In a second wind effort, my good friend Matt Fletcher (DJ Felch to his friends) has decided to restart his old brand, Stand Tall.

I have one of the original T-Shirts from this line and love it. His operation is based in China, where he currently works.  I know I have a few faithful readers out there in the USA, Russia and all over the world, so if you are interested in buying into new labels and wearing brands that aren't so renowned, keep your eye on this space.

If - in future - you do decide to order from Stand Tall Clothing, tell him I sent you!

On another note, I will try to produce more light-hearted and poignant material in the future month, seeing as though Christmas is just around the corner.  I also need to find a new way to promote this blog as my current avenues have been narrowed somewhat.  So, if you like what you read...tell a chum.

Better blogs to come and κάλο μήνα!

Real Talk: Ian Watkins

Jumping onto the bandwagon, it is an utter disgusting story that deserves the media exposure it currently has.  Everybody involved is deserving of nothing more than removal from society for being a part of this scandal.

What I find most disgusting is that the man was so removed from reality (most likely due to his commercial success) that he even had the nerve to create a music video in which he played the role of a children's TV show host.  A truly maniacal action of a man who must have been under the impression that he was untouchable; a God in his own mind.

For this example of heathenish disregard of humanity, atop of the events surrounding the case, should he be chastised to an astronomical degree. He has acted as if he was above what we now see as civilisation.  I simply cannot believe some of the instances in question.  In no way am I speaking in his defence - I hope that justice will prevail.  It just seeme like the actions of a villain in a very controversial comic book: completely unbelievable.

Today I...Made Music

So, here I am - one and a half years beyond the dissipations of my old band, From The Get Go - testing the saddle again.  This metaphor is referring to, once again, attempting to get back on the horse and start creating music again.

Last night I met up with a few musicians in a studio to teach them one of my newer songs in order to prepare for a recording in the near future.  To be truthful, it felt strange working with different musicians due to the fact that I have never really worked with any other musicians than the ones in my previous band; two members of which I had been writing music with for the best part of a decade.  To try and connect with other musicians feel like a challenge, especially as they are not use to my style/genre as well as the language barrier.  It is a tall order; a challenge accepted.

I have come to realise that creativity is a virtue I have been blessed with. Even if it is not truly a virtue that will be appreciated by the masses (or by anyone for that matter) but it is a virtue that is mine to share.  So, I will record my songs and post them online for everyone to hear if they do so wish.

The first song will be called 'Distant Light'.  I hope it will be to your taste, and that I will get it on here soon.

Today I... Try to Find My Space

On occasion I can get overwhelmed by waves of nostalgia, of which can only be satisfied by reliving past experiences.  Today is one of these occasions.  Purely, as an act of impulse, I ventured back through the corridors of my mind - down the aisle of memory - venturing far beyond countless, darkened doors.  The light inside these doors a dwindling flicker; thoughts without form.  Today I travelled back to a moment of my youth, after a visit from 'The Ghost of Online Past'.

Today I logged onto MySpace again.

Oh, my dear old friend, how you have changed!  Suave, sophisticated and smooth, the website's make-over seems to be a resurrection, like the Christopher Lee of Social Networking - saved by a change of direction.

Now, the website resembles an android phone, saturated with gadgets, gimmicks and gizmos.  Aesthetically pleasing and interesting.  I guess I am drawn to it, as it stands as a form a social isolation.  Nobody I know even considers using this site anymore.  That's why it intrigues me.  A bit like revisiting a childhood hangout, blowing dust off old clubhouse rules and unearthing forgotten treasures from your past.  I am reading over message from when I was almost a decade ago.  Amongst an abundance of spam, I find correspondence with old best friends, girlfriends, ghosts from my past that shape my present, and I sit in amazement at what used to be important to me.  It's like an e-scrapbook.

Nostalgia is a beautiful sentiment that should be cherished once in a while.

Update

I am getting back into the whole writing gambit again.  The whole routine of sitting before a keyboarding and thrashing out a few gripes and groans.

Another feature I will continue (mainly for my enjoyment) is the Celeblog.  It is just trash-fiction to keep me creating, really.  Atop of this, I hope people find enjoyment out of their lunacy.
